A little catch up... Taybri's Blessing

I've been such a slacker on posting, so slowly I am going to try and catch up. Ryman's baptism is coming up this weekend, so I figured I better get Taybri's blessing posted. We blessed her on June 6. We had so much family come, it was a great weekend! Dean gave her a beautiful blessing and it was a very happy day. She has been such a blessing for our family. I feel like we waited so long to get her here, there are days I walk in the room to pick her up and I still can't believe she's mine!
Brylie was blessed in a dress that my great-grandmother made. So, when I asked my mom if she would make Taybri's, she found a way to make it just as special. She used silk that my grandpa Candrian brought back from the orient over 40 years ago, tatted lace that my great-grandma made over 50 years ago, and the petticoat was made from a hand crocheted pillowcase from my great-grandma over 60 years ago. It was beautiful!!! I crocheted the booties and Dean's mom has made an amazing blessing quilt for each grandchild. Isn't she cute?!!!

Kayden-Surgery? Take it Easy? What?

So, a year ago on Mother's Day we found a large lump on Kayden that we thought was a hernia. Turned out to be a hydrocele (basically like a hernia, but it's water). We went to Primary Children's and they said to give it a year and see if it goes away. Well, it didn't go away, so it was back to Primary Children's yesterday to have it removed. I was SO NERVOUS. I didn't want to hand him over or see him in pain. Plus, it didn't help that everytime we talked to him about it he would ask, "Will I die?" Once we got there though, I felt very grateful for such a great hospital and that we were going in for something so minor. That is such a happy and oh so sad place to be. Well, pictures can probably tell how our day went more than I can, so here you go!

Reading Books in the waiting room, even though there were a TON of toys!

Getting his spiffy new pajamas on, to go to sleep!

Waiting to go in for surgery, more toys, but we are reading books!

Here he is out of recovery with his own TV and snow cone, he could have cared less that we were there.

4 hours later, we are in the car, ready to go home! The nurse gave him chocolate pudding to take in the car and he had it eaten before we pulled out of the parking lot (hence the dirty mouth!)

Dad took us to Maddox for lunch on the way home. Here is the smile of a full tummy! And last but not least, we came home and within 5 minutes of being in the house, he climbed up on the counter. The kids and Dean's parents were waiting for us with balloons and an early birthday surprise for Kayden. We gave him his codeine pain meds, but apparently the chocolate cake counter-acted its effects, because we decided to go for a walk before bed.....

THIS IS LESS THEN 10 HOURS AFTER SURGERY!!!

Thanks Bleazards for the balloons!!

One Smart Cookie....

Conversations with Kayden:
The other day while working in the yard with Dean, Kayden pointed out the obvious about something they were doing.
K: "I'm right, huh dad?"
D: "Yes you are!"
K: "I know everything."
D: "You know everything?"
K: "Ya, I'm a real smart kid..."

Then they came in the house and Kayden brought in a "pretty" rock (never knew there was such a thing until I married Dean, and he has now taught the art of finding pretty rocks to our boys.. ) he had found which quickly slammed into my living room wall.
Me: "Kayden! Are you throwing rocks in the house?!!"
K: "No!"
Me: "Yes you are!"
K: "It was only ONE rock mom!"

Hmmmmmmmm. Guess he is pretty smart!

Pictures!

O.k. I still haven't taken the time to load up the pictures we have taken, but I just had to share these! My dear friend Alayna came over yesterday and took some amazing ones (even though her subject was not enjoying herself...). I think she is pretty stinkin' cute! Thank you Alayna!!! Here she is, one month old!

She is growing so fast, it is making me incredibly sad. She is a big sweetheart and we are all loving having her here!

She's Here!!!

Just a quick post to announce our new little one. Taybri was born Wednesday after 1 1/2 hours of labor! ( I guess I shouldn't have been so anxious to get her here!) She was 6 lbs. 7 oz. and 20 in. long. We are both doing great! I'll work on the pictures later....

Curs-ed Chocolate!!

Don't mind this post... I'm just trying to rid myself of some frustration! First of all, that little pregnancy ticker is driving me crazy! I love that it says, "only ... days to go". Whoever wrote that has not been pregnant before! ONLY?!!! Do they realize how long I have been waiting? It should say, "You STILL have... days to go!" Especially during those last few weeks when your last few brain cells are slowly slipping away to who knows where, causing you to do random acts of forgetfulness. And how do I cope with the lack of brain function and anxiety of waiting for my still nameless little beauty to get here? I eat chocolate! Not just any chocolate! This happens to be the best time of year thanks to Easter candy and those beautiful cadbury mini eggs.

Opened a bag up only to endure the worst heartburn ever! Told the dr. yesterday of my concerns that I was getting it during the day now and not just at night... It's the chocolate!!! What?!!! Chocolate causing ill side effects? He must be crazy. But sure enough, no chocolate yesterday- no heartburn! But no worries... I "ONLY" have 20 days left!
(really I shouldn't be complaining... I feel great, and I have a very understanding husband who quietly smiles when he sees me putting small appliances in the refrigerator & has to jump my car because I left the key ever so slightly turned in the ignition)

So.........

So, I don't really have any good excuses for not updating this blog in awhile, but I do have a lot of lame ones!!! Mostly, our computer was slowly dying so there was limited use on it. Then we got a new one, but it intimidated me and I haven't figured out (or taken the time to figure out) how to download our pictures on it and really, my posts are just boring without pictures.... And life gets busy and little things like writing down your memories get pushed to the back for some reason.... I will try to do better! Our last week has been somewhat exciting and worth writing down, so here is a little update!
Brylie got to be sedated to fix a few cavities on Tuesday.... I knew the medication was working when she stood up, touched a painting on the wall of a pond and said, "it's not wet?!" with a confused look on her face. Then she started talking a million words a minute and they whisked her away while she had no idea what was going on in the world around her. Only to return with one less tooth and a shiny "princess" filling! Poor girl. She came home to sleep off the rest of her loopiness, and Ryman who had been sleeping for several days because of what we thought was the flu started complaining about a pain in his side. So, when Brylie came to, it was Ryman's turn for an adventure. A chest x-ray and cat scan later, we found out he had pneumonia! He was admitted that night and finally got to come home on Thursday. The pain is going away, but he is still sleeping like crazy! I had no idea what pneumonia could be like. Poor kid. So, we are recovering from our little adventures from last week and hoping that there are no more hospital visits until we are bringing home our new little one who still remains nameless! Now see- wouldn't that post have been much more exciting with pictures?! I'll work on it! Hope you are all happy and healthy!
