Gotcha!!!

Oops! Did I forget to mention that it's not really Dean in the picture? :) We got this picture in an e-mail and we just couldn't pass up the opportunity to pull a prank on our family and friends. Thanks for the laughs everyone! The last two days have kept us smiling reading your comments. We're actually pretty surprised at how far it went. Dean does have a pretty dirty job, but it's not that dirty! Surprised you didn't catch that there is no "local zoo" around here.

Just in case you are wondering.... if you look closely enough to the picture, you can see the guys hips are about level with the guy standing behind him. He'd have to be a giant to actually be inside the elephant. He's actually reaching up with his head hidden by the drape and the elephant's tail. It took us awhile to figure it out. Anway, just thought I better let you know that minor detail that we were just kidding! So mean...... I know..... But opportunities like that don't happen often, we just couldn't pass it up!

The Life of a Large Animal Vet....

WARNING: THE FOLLOWING PICTURE MAY NOT BE SUITABLE FOR YOUNG CHILDREN..... :)
So, most of you know what Dean does for a living. I personally have never actually watched him do his work, but he got a special call the other day, so we took the family along. For those of you that don't know, Dean is a large animal vet. The majority of his job involves checking cattle to determine their stage of pregnancy. Well, the local zoo called with a new addition, an elephant. They weren't sure if she was pregnant or not, so they asked Dean to come see (literally) what he could find. Dean is breathing through the hose.

Needless to say, the kids and I don't run to give him hugs and kisses when he comes home anymore. He's wishing he wouldn't have taken us now.... He loves his job, but personally I think he needs to ask for a raise!!!!

Boys will be Boys

We got some great gifts from Dean's mom this year, these ones we kept on the top shelf of the closet until Ryman re-discovered them this weekend. Kayden got his this summer for his birthday from my dad. (Aren't these kind of gifts supposed to be pay back? I thought I was an angel child.... ) So, the boys decided to have a little boxing match. Look at those muscles!

Dean was in the lead at first, with Kayden going for whoever he could reach.

But, the little boys eventually ganged up on their dad and took him down. Good times... And the gloves went into a new hiding spot hopefully until it's warm enough to play with them outside!

New Year's Eve

Dean and I decided to have a New Year's Eve party this year. It was a lot of fun! I've been waiting for Alison to post her pictures from New Year's Eve so I could steal some! Thanks Alison!

Dean came home about 15 minutes before people started arriving and made this awesome ballooon drop. At 8:30 we did a countdown for all the kiddos that needed to go to bed. All he had to do was cut a string and 75 balloons (that he blew up with his air compressor) came flying down. The kids loved it. I figured we'd get at least another half hour of play time with all those balloons, but once one popped, they popped them all as fast as they could. The little ones were holding on as tight as they could to theirs. Brylie was biting them to get them to pop!

Then I had a great idea that the kids would love some noisemakers! So I bought the smallest, cheapest looking ones I could find, and let me tell you - they were not quiet and they lasted plenty long. I intended on letting them keep them and take them home, but after a few minutes of around 20 kids blowing on those things, I had to ask for them all back.

All the girls except Claire, she came a little late. Me, Lucinda, Rachael, Candace, Missy, Sharmy, Alison, & Kelly.

The boys, who cheated of course, beat us at a game of Guesstures. Good times. And what were the kids up to while we were playing????

Unsupervised eating of whatever they could get their hands on!! It was a fun night! We're glad so many of our friends could come and terribly missed the ones who couldn't! Happy New Year!!!

Hannah Montana!

This Hannah Montana wig has inspired many a good time at the Bleazard home. What do you think? Rock stardom in their future? If you look really close you can see that Kayden is wearing a princess dress to top off the look! Thanks Madelyne for sharing your wig and Alison for the pictures!

Pearly Whites

So a few birthdays ago, one of Ryman's favorite uncles gave him a package of gruesome fake teeth. He loved the reaction he would get out of people whenever he wore them. Well, Brylie has recently figured out how to get people to smile and laugh by putting on a pair herself, only this time she fell asleep waiting for dad to come home so she could show off her pearly whites. Perfect opportunity for a picture of my camera shy girl. Isn't she cute?!!

Memories

Dean and I talk often about the memories we make with our little family. The ones we've already made and the ones we hope to make. Our children's minds are so open to learning right now, and those memories provide such wonderful teaching moments that will hopefully stay with them forever. This blog will hopefully help us with remembering the old ones and looking forward to the new ones. One of Dean's favorite quotes is, "God gave us memories that we might have June roses in the December's of our lives." So, here is an attempt at one of my new year's resolutions.... memories.
